A workshop on 22 June 2026 in Edinburgh will mark the 250th anniversary of the publication of Adam Smith’s “An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations.”

Call for Papers
The organizers are inviting submissions, which should be received by 1 May 2026, from
economists and economic historians on how Smith’s ideas have shaped the development of
economics over time. There is no registration fee for the workshop, and lunch and a conference
dinner will be provided.
Authors presenting at the workshop will be invited to submit revised and complete papers to
Reviews of Economic Literature.
